CATALYTIC CONVERTER REGENERATION ALFA ROMEO GT II 2.0 JTS 16V 165KM 2006
A catalytic converter from a 2006 Alfa Romeo GT II came to us. Its owner noticed that the car was not running as it should. We quickly discovered that the problem was in the catalytic converter. As it turned out, the catalytic converter's metal insert was completely loose and sliding freely in the housing. After checking the VIN number and finding the numbers of the original catalytic converter, we set to work finding a suitable metal insert to weld into the original housing.
The choice fell on RFC metal inserts with dimensions of 110/100 and 90/60 mm. The first, smaller and narrower insert meets the EURO 5 emission standard, which is important for this vintage. The second cartridge, which we used, has a EURO 4 standard and is quite sufficient to maintain full functionality of the system.
Alfa Romeo is a brand that stirs emotions and combines Italian elegance with modern technology. Reconditioning the catalytic converter in such cars is not only a technical challenge, but also a pleasure that comes from working on exceptional vehicles. Alfa Romeo owners are passionate people who take extraordinary care of their cars, and we are proud to help them do so.
The reconditioning process was as follows:
1. Preparing the catalytic converter to remove the old, worn ceramic cartridge.
2. Cutting up the original housing and removing the worn-out catalytic converter cartridge.
3.Fitting new metal RFC cartridges of 110/100 mm EURO 4 and EURO 5 of 60/90 mm with a capacity of 400 cpsi.
4. Welding of the housing and preparation of the catalytic converter for shipment.
