It is becoming increasingly common that cars several years old with mileage of less than 100,000 km. already require replacement or regeneration of the catalytic converter.

This was also the case here. The patient was a 2018 Opel Insignia with a mileage of about 80 thousand kilometers.

The customer did not believe how it is possible for a catalytic converter to wear out in a car that is several years old. Considering the overall condition of the catalytic converter and the appearance of the cartridge, it is indeed difficult to believe this.

Unfortunately, despite the fact that the catalytic converter looked very good and the cartridge visually looked like new, the catalytic converter did not work, the on-board computer report an error of too low efficiency of the catalytic converter.

And all this happens due to savings in component manufacturing. Original cartridges contain a negligible content of precious metals responsible for the process of catalyzing exhaust gases. I have the impression that the catalytic converter as well as other components are supposed to last for a maximum period of extended warranty up to 5 years, and often this coincides with the leasing period and the end .... you need to get rid of the car as soon as possible and buy a new one.

Fortunately, there are available on the market very good quality cartridges with a metal core, thanks to which, it is possible to regenerate the original part.

The described model uses a cartridge with Euro emission standards, as it was originally. The dimensions of the cartridge managed to match perfectly with respect to the original, the appropriate length, width and capacity. As standard, we cut the catalytic converter housing in a band saw, so that the cut is even and easy to weld, weld the insert tightly from the inside and zaspawujemy housing. The cartridge, with approval and warranty, is sure to last much longer than the original.
