CATALYTIC CONVERTER REGENERATION MAZDA 6 147 KM 2.0L 2008
The 2008 Mazda 6 is a solid and reliable car that is popular with drivers. However, like any vehicle, the Mazda 6 requires regular maintenance to maintain optimal performance and meet emissions standards. Today we will focus on catalytic converter regeneration, which plays a key role in reducing harmful emissions.
Why is catalytic converter regeneration important?
- The catalytic converter plays a key role in a car's exhaust system, as it converts harmful exhaust gases into less harmful substances. Over time, the catalytic converter can become clogged or contaminated, leading to a reduction in its effectiveness. As a result, this can result in higher fuel consumption, reduced engine power and non-compliance with emission standards. Catalytic converter regeneration is a process that allows you to restore its full functionality without having to buy a new one. It is both a more economical and environmentally friendly solution.
For the regeneration, we used a universal metal S-type catalytic converter cartridge with 3 cores for increased performance and durability of the RFC brand. Compatible with gasoline engines and LPG systems. - PRODUCT LINK
Here is the detailed process for catalytic converter remanufacturing in 2008 Mazda 6 2.0L 147 hp:
1. Prepare the catalytic converter to remove the old, worn ceramic cartridge:
We start by removing the catalytic converter from the car's exhaust system. To do this, we lift the vehicle on a jack and carefully unscrew all the fasteners so as not to damage the other components.
2. Cutting the original housing and removing the used catalytic converter cartridge.
We begin by cutting open the original catalytic converter housing to gain access to its interior. During this operation, we pay attention to the condition of the ceramic cartridge, which is often heavily contaminated and damaged. A worn-out cartridge may have numerous cavities and cracks, and its structure may be completely blocked with carbon deposits and other substances, which significantly reduces the efficiency of the catalyst. Once the worn-out cartridge is thoroughly removed, the housing is ready for the next stages of regeneration.
3. Fitting a new metal RFC cartridge with dimensions of 110/100 mm, EURO 5 and EURO 2 emission standards and a capacity of 500 cpsi.
After removing the old cartridge and thoroughly cleaning the housing, we prepare a new metal RFC cartridge. This cartridge, measuring 110/100 mm, meets EURO 5 and EURO 2 emission standards, which ensures its high efficiency and compliance with current standards. In addition, the 500 cpsi capacity guarantees optimal exhaust gas flow, which contributes to improved engine performance. We precisely fit the new cartridge to the catalytic converter housing, making sure that it is well seated and has no play, which is crucial for its proper operation.
4. Weld the housing and prepare the catalytic converter for shipment.
Once the new insert has been carefully fitted, we proceed to weld the catalytic converter housing. We use precision welding techniques to ensure the durability and tightness of the joints, which is key to the proper operation of the catalyst. Once the welding is complete, the catalytic converter undergoes a final quality check to ensure that all components are properly installed. The catalytic converter is then carefully packaged and prepared for shipment to reach the customer in perfect condition, ready to be reinstalled in the car.
After two hours of work, the catalytic converter regeneration is completed. Our customer will receive the package the very next business day and will be able to proceed with the installation of the regenerated catalytic converter. This will make the car ready for further operation, with full functionality and compliance with emission standards.
